The Special Events Committee plans fundraising and social events for AWCP members throughout the year. Our most popular annual fundraiser is a community event attracting more than 350 attendees, the Great American Hoedown and Chili Cook-off. The Wild West gala is complete with an all-American BBQ buffet, complimentary margaritas and shot bar, Country Western atmosphere, Honky Tonk band, plenty of line dancing, country dancing and free stylin,’ Chili Cook off, and Style Star Contests. This cowboy and cowgirl night, full of surprises, annually supports a designated charity. We also have smaller social events to help members and spouses get to know each other and enhance their living in the Philippines experience. These events range from theme parties, wine dinners, progressive dinners all the way to holiday family pot lucks. Special event promotions are made via AWCP membership email, Inklings magazine, Newcomers meetings, General Membership meetings, and of course this site. We are always in need of volunteers of all skill levels to help execute the many tasks involved in throwing a fun and memorable special event.
